Formerly the Bank of America building, this Tahoe restaurant in historic downtown Truckee, Calif., opened its doors as the Bar of America in 1974. In 1999 owners Robyn Sills and Ed Coleman purchased the Bar of America; they revitalized the Tahoe bar and created a casual, fun atmosphere providing a perfect alternative and compliment to the white tablecloth dining in the adjacent Truckee Italian restaurant, Pacific Crest Grill.

For three decades the Bar of America has been a mainstay for Truckee nightlife. Synonymous with great live music, good food and plenty of free-flowing libations, the Bar of America has provided a happy hour hangout and weekend watering hole for locals and visitors alike.
